Two sculptural playgrounds opened in February 2018 flank Civic Center Plaza, giving Tenderloin, Hayes Valley, and SoMa families artful climbing structures on cushioned turf steps from City Hall and the library. The design includes multi-sensory play zones and equipment that lets children in wheelchairs swing and play alongside their peers.
