Kansas City's most iconic playground grew out of a giant penguin sculpture built by a parks supervisor in 1965, later joined by a giraffe, elephant, and kangaroo that kids still climb today. An old-school merry-go-round, pretend-play fire truck, and a separate toddler area keep it working for a wide range of ages.
